College House Alumni Ambassadors volunteer to work on projects throughout the year to create excitement for Alumni Weekend as well as to have the opportunity to meet with alumni. This personalization is priceless to our Alumni and helps them to leave reunion events with treasured memories of their return to Penn.

Projects include:

  • Locating missing alumni e-mail addresses
  • Contacting alumni with personalized notes
  • Burning CDs with songs from the era of a class’s graduation
  • Creating slide shows with pictures from the class to be shown during that class’s reunion party

During the week between finals and Alumni Weekend (May 11-13th):

  • Preparing materials for Alumni Weekend
  • Building class-themed floats for the reunion classes
  • Assisting with decorations
  • Staffing reunion events with Development and Alumni Relations staffing including:
    • Cocktail hours
    • Class parties
    • The all-alumni picnic and parades
    • 25th and 50th reunion dinners
    • Brunch and educational seminars

CHAA receive:

  • Free housing extensions through noon on Tuesday, May 15th
  • College House Alumni Ambassador shirts and caps
  • The opportunity to get to know successful, engaged alumni

Requirements for applicants to CHAA:

Any current Penn student wishing to partake in CHAA is eligible to apply. CHAA crews will be limited to one Liaison and 10 members; interested students must complete an online application and be interviewed by their CHAA liaison. There are no requirements to be currently living in a College House; we encourage students who live off-campus to apply to work with the College House with which they affiliate most strongly – be that the College House they lived in freshman year, or the College House they lived in the year before they moved off-campus.

All students must be available to work the week prior to Alumni Weekend during these times:

  • 9am – 5pm, Monday, May 7 through Thursday, May 10
  • 9am – Midnight, Friday, May 11
  • 9am – 10pm, Saturday, May 12.

It may not be necessary to work all these hours, but is a possibility.
