Ware is a House that constantly seeks new ways to enlighten and engage its residents — roughly 89 percent of whom are freshmen. The House is buzzing with programs, groups and committees that heighten the experience of being at Penn. The House sponsors trips to concerts, museums, performing arts events, amusement parks, shopping excursions and more. Members of the House Council plan semi-formals, dances, gourmet coffee nights, and other get-togethers. From guest lectures to dinners to open mic nights and more, the House always feels alive and active. One of the House favorites is Sunday Brunch in McClelland Hall, held every week, in which 200 or so residents amble downstairs to enjoy hot and cold entrees and good company along with the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The size and configuration of rooms and suites in Ware College House vary greatly, though everyone enjoys being in the very heart of the Quad. The House contains a library, music practice rooms, computer lab, study rooms, and a rooftop multi-purpose video and gaming lounge, also known as The Tower, with a kitchen, pool and ping-pong tables, piano, large screen plasma television, karaoke machine, Playstation 3, Wii, and a Blu-ray DVD player. Spacious McClelland Hall is the site of many campus activities as well as a convenience shop for quick meals.
