We are offering two opportunities for CHAS RAs, staff, and faculty to give back to the community with the following organizations:
Lisa’s Army
Lisa’s Army is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort to courageous individuals currently undergoing cancer treatments. http://lisasarmy.org/about-us/
CHAS Project:
- Putting together wellness bags for cancer patients
- Creating "Get Well" cards for cancer patients
Sweet Pea Project
The Sweet Pea Project offers comfort, support and gentle guidance to families who have experienced the death of a baby. https://www.sweetpeaproject.org/about-the-project
CHAS Project:
- Crocheting hats and blankets for families
This project will be facilitated by Rodin House Director Kathryn McDonald
All supplies for each project will be provided. The service day is an optional participation and CHAS team members can come and go throughout the time frame.
Note: We ask that those participating in the Sweet Pea Project arrive at the beginning to receive the crochet tutorial.
CHAS baseball caps will be available for everyone as a "thank you" for your assistance.
