Welcome Quakers

College Houses & Academic Services logoFour-Year Houses

Du Bois, Gregory, Gutmann and Stouffer College Houses in many ways represent an ideal College House experience. Residents have a much greater chance of getting to know one another on a deeper level, of building lifelong friendships and forging closer bonds with the residential faculty because their resident populations range from 180 to 350 and include members from all four academic years. Many first-years find that they enjoy the experience so much that they wind up staying through their senior year.

HOUSE SPOTLIGHT: GREGORY

Gregory "Beach" with barbecue grill and studentsAs you explore your housing options for the upcoming year, we encourage you to consider Gregory College House. Gregory has two buildings, Van Pelt Manor and Class of 1925; both offer 1-4 bedroom suites, each with a microfridge and a private bathroom for each suite. Gregory is known for its homey mix of privacy and sociability, offering plenty of opportunities for social interaction but a place to get away when you need to focus on your studies.

Gregory College House hosts a ton of events a week including but not limited to study breaks, brunches, guest talks, and plenty of food. The Film Culture program at Gregory offers an extensive slate of movies each semester in the House's custom-built Film Lounge, and the Language & Cultures Program offers residents the chance to practice their German, French, Spanish, or Chinese at language-focused programs throughout the year.

A four-year house, Gregory offers students the opportunity to stay in the house throughout their undergraduate career. Upperclass Gregorians often serve as a sort of mentor to the first-years, giving new Quakers in the House someone who knows their way around and who can help them get involved however they want, and the mix of students from all four years allows first-year students to connect with upperclassmen and find not only mentors, but friends.
